APRIL NEWSLETTER

Hello Gentlemen,

Thank you to everyone who was involved in the Hostler’s show in Ogden. We had a good show despite the attendance being down 30%. We had a meeting at the show on Saturday. We met in the basement at the layout. There are some things that are still unsettled at Union Station. We are going to move forward on landscaping the layout, but we will wait on purchasing the indexing for the turntable. We would like to have those interested in using the layout for teaching purposes to meet on Saturday April 21st at 10:00 a.m.. We will set a plan in place, with the help of Ron Cevering, for what kind of landscaping we wish to do on the layout. Once we have a plan we will give members assignments and reimburse them for any items they purchase for the layout. We wish to use this as a learning tool, so think about what you would like to teach our members. Also remember Ron is there on every 2nd Saturday of the month running trains. We would really like some input on how to do things on this layout so please plan to be there. On the same day as we will be meeting Hostler’s will be holding a silent acution. Anyone can attend and buy at the auction, but will not be able to sell. Hostler’s will be holding a chance for everyone to sell items later in the year. We are checking into a few excursions to offer to club members. We are looking a Durango, Chama, and Ely. Hopefully we will have some information on these excursions by our next meeting. Our next meeting will be at Craig Johnson’s on April 19th at 7 P.M.. Craig will be teaching the proper way to wire DCS. This will be followed by our May 17th meeting at Stephen Call’s home, in which he will teach us about all the new features of Legacy. In June we will be holding a Saturday meeting at Deloy’s home, he will be teaching us repairs in maintenance on our trains. Our next show will be the Evanston show in August. Before the show we need to check the layout for repairs and find the pins for the layout. Please remember we need your dues. Thank you,

P.S. If you need some good tools for working on your train, check with your dentist for his old used tools. He might give them to you or sell them cheap.
